Frequently Asked Questions
What is urgent care?
Urgent care centers offer convenient access to medical care when your primary care physician's office is closed, or when you just cannot wait for an appointment. Urgent care offices are often open on weekends, evenings, and most holidays. They are walk-in facilities, so you typically only have to wait a short time before seeing a physician.
When should I go to the ER instead of urgent care?
If you have suffered a life-threatening injury, have chest pain or shortness of breath, or received a head injury, you will need to go to the emergency room. While our urgent care clinic is staffed by trained professionals, our team is not equipped to provide the advanced care you can only get in a hospital setting. Urgent care is designed to treat injuries that need medical attention but are not an immediate threat to your life. If you need guidance on where you should go, give us a call.
Do I need an appointment?
Medicross Clinic and Urgent Care is a walk-in facility, so you do not need an appointment to be seen by our doctor. This means your wait time will vary depending on how many people are ahead of you. You may experience a longer wait time during flu season or holidays.
How long will I have to wait?
Patients are evaluated upon arrival, and those with more severe injuries will be prioritized. Our team will let you know your approximate wait time when you arrive; however, this can change as new patients arrive.
What types of injuries are treated?
Medicross Clinic and Urgent Care can treat injuries ranging from minor cuts that may need stitches to sprains and fractures. Our team has the equipment and skills necessary to treat a variety of minor injuries.
